Ironman 70.3 North American Championships

03. September 2014 - vor 8 Jahren, 3 Monaten und 1 Tag

Ironman 70.3 Mont Tremblant, North American Championship, By Hunter Allen With a new baby, a new bicycle company (Dimond bikes), and training, TJ Tollakson is one professional triathlete that has to train efficiently and effectively.  He cannot afford a wasted minute in his training and maintains a training discipline that many envy and few can follow.  He uses two of the most important tools in training and racing to help him achieve great success, like his recent win in Ironman Mont Tremblant, and those tools are his SRM Training System and TrainingPeaks WKO+ software.   “My SRM is so important, and I mount the PC7 right on my handlebars, so I can look at it without moving my head or position a single bit. I look at my SRM almost the entire time and sometimes it feels like I am a Jedi knight controlling my power and heart rate just the way I want it.” TJ also uses TrainingPeaks WKO+ software to analyze his power and pace data and has a clear understanding of his power data and metrics. "I look at my Performance Manager Chart obsessively inside WKO+ and know what my FTP is at all times. TrainingPeaks WKO+ software gives me the confidence to race smart and do the perfect pace for my FTP."

MTN-Qhubeka Makes History at Vuelta a España

26. August 2014 - vor 8 Jahren, 3 Monaten und 8 Tagen

SRM Training Data: Vuelta Espana Team Time Trial Jerez - Jacques Janse van Rensberg By Dr Carol Austin, Director Health and Performance Team MTN-Qhubeka Team MTN-Qhubeka announced the arrival of African cycling by achieving a respectable 12th place finish in the opening stage of the Vuelta Espana 2014. The team powered through the 12.6km flat team time trial (TTT) course in 14:42, finishing just 29 secs off the winning team Movistar.  "For our our grand tour debut we did a really good job." said Jacques Janse van Rensburg. "We started off at about 95% effort through the first technical cobbled section. As soon as we got onto the smooth tar it was "full gas" for every rider. We raced through the first half well, setting a solid time for the intermediate check. In the final 2km uphill drag we were on the limit, but we timed our effort really well finishing with six riders. Our director sportifs, Manel Lacambra and Jens Zemke did a great job in determining the team order and guiding us through the course. We didn't take risks in the corners as we were concerned about the slippery surface which had resulted in crashes of other teams during practice sessions. I was sitting behind our two sprinters, Kristian and Gerald who were tasked with accelerating the team up to speed.  I am really happy with the performance of the team and I am confident that we will perform well in the next 3 weeks."

SRM's Tour de France Highlights

08. August 2014 - vor 8 Jahren, 3 Monaten und 26 Tagen

The 101st Tour de France was one of the most challenging and memorable cycling events in recent years. Twenty-two teams raced over 3,600 kilometers enduring wind, rain, hail, and heat as they conquered mountain passes and navigated technical terrain through peloton pandemonium. This year’s peloton showcased many new eye-catching updates; teams sported new kit colors, next generation frame designs, chic helmet shapes, and techie handlebar accessories for capturing “inside the race” video footage - but one dramatic theme remained unchanged: SRM powers the peloton! In a year when the power meter market grew considerably with more brands positioning themselves in professional cycling, SRM continues to be the choice of the world’s top riders, trainers, technical directors, and sports scientists. With nine WorldTour teams selecting SRM as their official PowerMeter and six additional teams racing with SRM, nearly 70% of this year’s pro peloton was pushing #SRMpower.

Tour de France 18. Etappe
