Amy D. Foundation Auction

05. Oktober 2016 - vor 2 Jahren, 7 Monaten und 15 Tagen

The Amy D. Foundation is a nonprofit organization created in honor of Amy Alison Dombroski, whose love for cycling and life touched many people around the world. The Amy D. Foundation encourages and supports young women through cycling, inspiring the celebration of healthy challenge and empowering the confident pursuit of lofty dreams. Amy Alison Dombroski passed tragically at age 26 while training abroad in Belgium. She was a versatile cyclist with U23 National Championship titles in road, mountain, and cyclocross.  Still early in her career, she was considered by many in the sport to be a rising talent and serious contender at world-class cycling events. In her short but full life, Amy touched the hearts of communities in the United States and Europe.  Amy had a passion for life that transcended the sport of cycling; she loved to share this passion with the friends and family that surrounded her.  She also had an uncanny ability to transform challenges she faced in her own life into intense positive focus.  The tattoo of a lighting bolt that Amy bore on her wrist served as a remembrance of her mother’s tragic death, and provided her a daily source of motivation. SRM is honored to support the Amy D. Foundation and has donated an SRM Training System to their annual auction, which will take place from the 15th to the 22nd of November. Ironman 70.3 Timberman

28. August 2016 - vor 2 Jahren, 8 Monaten und 23 Tagen

SRM sponsored triathlete, Michael Weiss, raced Ironman 70.3 Timberman as a key training stimulus for October's Ironman Kona. A solid swim performance, the day’s fastest bike split with a new course record and a controlled half marathon ensured a stellar 2nd place overall with a finishing time of 03:49:22, only beaten by former 2x short distance Olympian Tyler Butterfield. Race day temperatures were ideal and directors ruled a non-wetsuit swim for pros. In the swim Michael immediately found a rhythm exiting the water after 26:20 in 11th position only 2’20” behind the top group. Once on the bike course, he immediately moved up through the field, eventually taking the lead with a course record bike split of 2:01:44. The Austrian pro arrived to T2 in first position going into the half marathon and was eventually only caught by race winner, Butterfield. Weiss finished second, saying “this was probably my best IM 70.3 performance to date!”  Now let's take a closer look at the SRM data.

Clasica San Sebastian

04. August 2016 - vor 2 Jahren, 9 Monaten und 16 Tagen

The World Tour Classic, a 220-kilometer run through the Basque hills, all came down to the last, steep climb where four riders emerged at the top of the 1.8-kilometer ascent with gradients exceeding 20 percent: Mollema (Trek-Segafredo), Valverde (Movistar), Gallopin (Lotto Soudal) and Rodriguez (Katusha). Mollema, knowing he didn't stand a chance if it came to a sprint, caught the other three by surprise by launching an immediate attack with just over eight kilometers to go. [Trek-Segafredo]

Stage 1 - Tour de France 2016

03. Juli 2016 - vor 2 Jahren, 10 Monaten und 18 Tagen

Stage 1 - Mont-Saint-Michel - Utah Beach / Sainte-Marie-Du-Mont (188km) Contributed by Vincent Villerius, Coach (Cofidis) Let’s have a look at the SRM file from the first stage of the Tour de France of promising young French sprinter, Christophe Laporte, normally Nacer Bouhanni’s leadout man in the Cofidis sprint train. After the late withdrawal of Bouhanni just 3 days before the Grand Départ, Laporte has become the sprinter of the team for the sprints in this year’s Tour de France. He took a great 6th place in the sprint behind world class sprinters as Cavendish, Kittel, Sagan and Greipel and missed out the white jersey for best young riders by just one place, with Edward Theuns finishing just in front of him.
