January 25, Stage 6: Las Chacras - Mirador del Sol 184.4km
Trek Factory Racing Team's newest Colombian addition, Julián Arredondo, claimed his second stage win in the Tour de San Luis ahead of Sergio Godoy and Nairo Quintana on the uphill finish atop the Mirador del Sol. Julián, new to the WorldTour, joined Trek this season as a specialty climber with high hopes for the upcoming Giro d'Italia.
The training and performance team at Trek Factory Racing shared Arredondo's SRM race file as a continued contribution to data transparency and to show how a climber's race data can be unique to others. Julián races at 164cm with approximately 58kg on the SRM Shimano 9000 11-Speed PowerMeter.

In stage 6 of Tour de San Luis, riders were greeted with a relative relief from the heat over the 184.4 kilometer mountain stage. In total, Arredondo averaged 170 watts with a cadence average of 65rpm and 42kph average speed. After climbing just over 1,450 meters and burning roughly 2,000 kilocalories, Julián executed the team's race strategy for the day with an uphill sprint to victory in 4:16:54.

During the final 15 kilometers, which included the last climb, Julián pushed 322 average watts with an 86rpm average cadence. He held an average speed over 30kph in this segment with 163bpm heart rate average. On the final 8 kilometer climb, Arredondo produced more than ten 400+ watt peaks as he rode decisively with the leaders.
"The plan was for Julián to stay with Quintana," explained Sports Director, Alain Gallopin. "No attacking, no pulling - just play the stage win and stay on the wheel of Quintana and make the sprint.”
"A professional team must always work with the best technology to assist athletes in their training and performance. With this view SRM is the best technical instrument to use for it. Trek Factory Racing is proud to be supported by SRM Training Systems knowing the union of these two big companies will bring the biggest results." - Luca Guercilena, Team Manager
