Tour de France 2015

Highlights and Insights from SRM

SRM supported 11 teams in the 102nd Tour de France. Over three weeks, 21 stages, and 3,360 kilometers SRM provided material support, shared behind the scenes photos, posted exclusive data analysis, and gave the PC8 its first real "Vive le Tour" experience!

Here's a look at the 2015 highlights and insights from SRM:

The "Jersey" PC8s made their debut in the pro peloton this year with limited edition Yellow, Green, Polka-dot, and white for category leaders.

The first yellow jersey and PowerControl8 of the Tour was earned by Rohan Dennis, BMC Racing Team. The young Australian was the only rider to complete the 13.8km course in less than fifteen minutes, the fastest individual time trial ever at the Tour de France.

Fabian Cancellara, Trek Factory Racing, moved into yellow after his 3rd place finish in Stage 2 which was set in Spring Classic conditions with high winds and wet roads. Cancellara was injured the following day in one of the Tour's most brutal crashes, after which he managed to ride to the finish with teammate support, but sustained fractured vertebrae and was forced to return home for medical treatment and recovery.

André Greipel, the German super-sprinter for Lotto-Soudal, had an exceptional Tour with 4 stage wins, including victory on the Champs-Élysées. He had success in the Green sprinter's jersey and gave Peter Sagan a true 'run for the money' in the points classification.

It was Peter Sagan, Tinkoff Saxo, who won the overall points classification and held the Green jersey in Paris. This was his fourth green jersey victory with SRM-power. "I am very happy because this year was a very hard fight from the start," Peter expressed.

Joaquim Rodriguez, Team Katusha, raced much of the Tour de France in the Polka-dot jersey as he was second to Froome in the mountains classification.
