When I try loading the program on my computer I get a 1155 (instmsiw.exe not found) error message, how do I fix it?
You need to download the Windows Installer file, which you can find on our Software Support page. Run the file once you've downloaded it, restart your computer, and then try loading the SRM Win software again (instmsi.exe).
When I try to download my PowerControl, I get the message "The following settings could not be read and are set to there default value: ,Telemetrie Tel repeat"
- Please try to download once again. If it is not downloading please reset your PowerControl.
- Choose "PowerControlSetup" > "Special" > "Reset"
- Please press the "Set" button on your PowerControl while confirming the reset with "Ok" in the SRM Win Software. Don't press the "Set" button too early, because it will fall into "Sleep" mode if you press it for too long and the reset won't work.
Can I read files from a PC VI in an old version of the software? I keep getting an error message that says it's a "corrupt file".
No, you can't read files from a PC VI in the older versions of the software. There are two possible solutions, you can choose whichever one suits you best:
Upgrade your software, from www.srm.de/index.php/us/support/phoca-down-test/category/17-srm-trainings-system-software
- All of your old files will still work in the new version, and you will be able to see your new files as well.
- If you have two computers, one running the new version and one running the old, open the file in the new version and go to File > Export. Select "Training as data file (old format)" in the Save As options, and save it to your desired location (i.e. portable USB drive). It will then open in the old version of the software.
I get the error message "No PowerControl Found at Com 1" with my PowerControl V.
- Make sure your PowerControl is charged (the display is lit and visible)
- Download the latest SRM Win Software at www.srm.de . This will include the driver.
- To install the USB driver for PCV please choose complete installation. If not only the driver for PC VI/7 will be installed.
If the PCV driver is already installed there will be an "UnInstall" dialog showing up during installation. Do not! Uninstall the driver. Close this dialog with Cancel.
- Make sure PC V is selected along the top tool bar.
- Open options and under the Active Port make sure "SRM Downloadcable USB" is selected.
If these steps will not help then it may also be a defective download cable. You can borrow another to determine if this is the problem
If another download cable is not available, you can send your cable to SRM for testing or just order a new cable in the SRM Online-Shop.
