Do I need to uninstall my old software before downloading a new version?

No, the old software will be deleted when you upload the new software. Your SRM data (trainingdata and settings) will NOT be deleted.
Click on the link below to get the latest version: www.srm.de/index.php/us/support/phoca-down-test/category/17-srm-trainings-system-software and follow the installation wizard.

Will my old files be lost if I uninstall the software to download a new version?

No, your files will not be lost. If they were saved in the default location, the new version will automatically find them and show them in your file list.
If you saved your data files to a different location, go to the 0 System tab, go to the Database Directory section, and browse to the location where your files are stored. Click Apply, then OK.

If I download and install the PC VI firmware update, will all of the training files currently saved on my computer will be deleted, or just on the SRM bike computer?

When you download and install the firmware upgrade for the PC VI, you will see the following warning: "ATTENTION: Training files will be deleted after firmware upgrade! Please download your training data first!". This warning only refers to any training data that you currently have on your PC VI that you haven't downloaded into the SRMWin software yet.
Make sure you download your training files into your existing version of SRMWin before you install the new firmware.
All of your training files in the software on your computer are safe, and will not be deleted.

Will SRM WIN work with a 64 Bit driver?

Yes, we have drivers for the USA Download cable (PCV) available at www.srm.de/index.php/us/support/phoca-down-test/category/20-usb-drivers for both Windows Visa and XP

Can I use more than one SRM System in one copy of the SRM Win software?

You can download multiple SRM PowerControls into the same SRM WIN program. You can name them differently or the same - your choice. The data will come with the date, slope and zero offset from the PowerControl when the data was recorded, and the SRM WIN Program in your computer will not alter this. There is no problem with this, and you can use as many systems as you like.
This is particularly relevant for coaches - you can work with as many athletes as you like, within one copy of the SRM Win software, and all of their data will be stored with their individual system settings.

Is SRM WIN Software compatible with Windows Vista?

Yes, SRM Win Evaluation Software runs on Windows Vista. As we strive to continually upgrade our SRM Software, you can always download the latest version at www.srm.de.

Where do my downloaded files go?

  • Open SRM Win Evaluation Software.
  • Click on Options from the toolbar across the top.
  • Go to the 0 System Tab
  • Look at the Database Directory. The default location where your downloaded files go is: C:\Users\Public\Documents\SRM\_data.srm
  • You can change this to any location on your computer by browsing from this window - then if you change it - hit Apply then OK.

I can't find my downloaded files and I have Windows Vista

You were probably using a SRMWin version prior to 6.42.01
With this version it was possible that windows was "hiding" files.
There are a total 5 different locations where your SRM files could be:

  • C:\Users\Public\Documents\SRM\_data.srm
  • C:\Program Files\SRM Training System\_data.srm
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\ SRM Training System\_data.srm C:\Users\"Username"\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\SRM Training System\_data.srm
  • C:\Users\"Username"\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\SRM Training System\_data.srm

If you have problems accessing the AppData folder copy and paste the following line directly into the address line of your file explorer:

  • %AppData%\..\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\SRM Training System\_data.srm
  • %AppData%\..\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\SRM Training System (x86)\_data.srm

When I connect my PowerControl to my computer when I'm running SRMWIN, I get the "blue screen of death" (my computer crashes and shows me a blue screen). What can I do?

This is a problem that happens sometimes with PCIVs and PCVs, on computers running newer versions of Windows XP and Vista and 7.
To solve this problem please install the latest PCV USB driver from our homepage.
(see Support/Downloads/USB Driver "How to update your PowerControl V driver") .
