Le Tour de France Stage 21

In a spectacular celebration of the 100th Tour de France the final stage brought the peloton into Paris in the early evening and for the first time circled the Arc de Triomphe. 22 teams completed 10 laps of the circuit with ever increasing speed and power with 19 of the teams using the SRM Training SystemSRM Sponsored Teams took all top honors this year: "Team Sky's Chris Froome became the second consecutive British cyclist to win the Tour de France, after Bradley Wiggins accomplished the feat the year before. In the race's other classifications, Movistar Team rider, Nairo Quintana, won the mountains classification and also finished as the best rider under the age of 26 in the general classification, finishing in second place overall; Peter Sagan of  Cannondale Pro Cycling was the winner of the points classification, with Team Saxo Bank-Tinkoff finishing as the winners of the team classification." Movistar Team shared Rui Costa's SRM race file from the final stage. With 3,270 kilometers of racing behind him this file certainly has unique features and an inspirational finish.

Le Tour de France Stage 20

Stage 20 of the Tour de France was 125 kilometers with over 3,200 meters of climbing. The course, ridden by l'Etape du Tour amateurs the week before, began on the shores of Lake Annecy and finished atop the HC climb, Annecy-Semnoz. Movistar Team's top young rider, Nairo Quintana, took the stage win ahead of Froome and Rodriguez. He claimed the polka-dot jersey and moved into second place overall. Riding with Movistar Team and Quintana was Vuelta a España winner and famous all-rounder, Alejandro Valverde. Below is the Spanish professional's SRM race file illustrating the demands of Stage 20.

Dirk Bockel Wins Challenge Roth

SRM Triathlete, Dirk Bockel, won the 12th edition of Challenge Roth, the European Long-Distance Championship on July 14th, 2013. Inspired by record crowds and perfect race conditions Bockel completed the 3.8 kilometer swim, 180 kilometer bike, and the final 42 kilometer marathon run in 7:52:01. “This was a dream coming true for sure,” said Bockel. “I’ve been doing triathlon for 24 years now and I would never have imagined I could do this time – believing is such a big part of this sport, as well as putting in the work. I had my fastest ever swim, fastest bike and fastest run. I’m not known for my run, but I got a PB, a new national record. To cut it short, it’s a dream come true."

SRM Grand Prize at Ötztaler Radmarathon

The winner of this year’s Ötztaler Radmarathon will receive a prize donated by SRM. The road race has a 30 year history and is considered one of the hardest races in the German-speaking region. Last year 20,000 athletes applied to receive one of 4,000 available entries. This year, SRM will not only donate the prize for first place in the Ötztaler Radmarathon, SRM will also have a booth at the Sattelfest (Saddle Fest), an exhibition that is all about the bike race. The Saddle Fest will take place August 23-24 in Sölden. Representatives from SRM Germany will be onsite to introduce product and answer questions. An SRM IndoorTrainer will be part of the display, and there will be a number of fun power-based games with prizes. The race itself will take place on August 25. The course provides 5,508 meters of climbing over 227 kilometers. The last ascent to Timmelsjoch is 28.7 kilometers long with 1,759 meters of climbing.
