Stage 7 of the Giro d'Italia was 177km from San Salvo to Pescara and included over 2,700 meters of climbing combined with rainy, technical descents. Movistart's Benat Intxausti, of Spain, managed to avoid multiple crashes and conquered the climbs to finish the stage in 14th earning the leaders jersey.
